SNEAK ATTACK

A big bad bug or bee bit me
Right in my bicycle seat.
When I sat down upon it
That pest flipped its bonnet!
I felt flesh and stinger meet!

My attacker was sneaky, unseen.
I never caught sight of what hit me
Or from where he came.
But he had no shame;
He climbed up my pant leg and bit me.

We were just starting out on our ride
Into the windy jaws of a gale!
Couldn’t stop and alight
To tend to my bite
So kept pedalin’ on without fail.

The pain in my seat soon faded
In the fatigue of struggling on.
My body went numb,
My brain was dumb,
And the memories of tush pain were gone.

That’s been a full two days ago,
Now half of my butt’s swelled and red.
There’s an itch and a burn
That still make me squirm!
Sweet revenge: my attacker is DEAD!
