HOLIDAY RESCUE
Oh, dear Santa, please help me. I’m trapped
In Walmart’s pre-Christmas stampede!
I’ve been in this check-out line for hours
And I really need to be freed!
I’ve bought and wrapped and mailed my gifts
Two weeks ago or more.
I just came in for this gallon of milk,
But now I’m stuck in the store!
So, please, dear Santa, do some trick
To get me out of this line so slow.
It’s nearly ten o’clock at night,
And I really need to go.
I’ve been really good all year, you know.
So I’m asking you, Santa, please,
To move this line or “beam me up.”
If I could, I’d beg on my knees!
The cashier is slow; the customers grouchy;
The noise level’s over the moon.
The crowd increases; the pressure mounts.
Santa, please rescue me soon!
I’ve waited so long my milk’s gone sour,
And I’m sinking in holiday gloom.
Oh, Santa, puh-leese get me out of this line
To get to the ladies’ room!
