PARABLE OF RESURRECTION

A nasty fungus infected
my flowering shrub.
The flowers dried up,
the leaves turned jaundiced yellow,
and dropped off.
All that was left were
long, straggly, bare stems
with no sign of life.
So, I cut them off,
down close to the root.
Within days new leaves appeared,
and soon the plant looked vibrant
with new growth.
New life is possible,
even after our infection
with the fungus of sin.
Resurrection is real
if we will stay close to
our Living Root.
