| From the passenger’s seat:
Ah, mountains, mighty mountains
You draw my eyes toward heaven
as your soaring peaks
challenge the home of the gods!
Sturdy slopes adorned with forests
and trimmed by scenic rocky cliffs.
Peace and serenity
wherever I turn my eyes.
Wildlife roams in the protection
of your wooded trails
and birds find homes
in your heights.
I can echo the words of the psalmist:
"Let the mountains sing together for joy
at the presence of the Lord..."
(Psalm 98:8-9)

From the driver’s seat:
Oh, mountains, pesky mountains.
You drive me crazy with
your constant ups and downs,
making my ears pop and
challenging my driving skill!
Long hard climbs and
sweeping descents
Leave me tense and uncertain
about what to expect.
Wildlife create a hazard and
birds sometimes poop
on my windshield!
I can echo the words of the psalmist:
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains ...
From where will my help come?"
(Psalm 121:1)
