Breakfast in the Cypress Swamp |
| The Sam Houston Jones State Park which is located just
north of Lake Charles, Louisiana, is situated on the banks of the
Calcasieu River and contains a number of bayous, ponds, and cypress
swamps. |
We
thought you might enjoy what "breakfast call" looked like to us on our walk this
morning in the Sam Houston Jones State Park. (Click

Ellie
the Egret says, "Where are all those tasty little frogs? I’ve been
here for hours already and I’m still hungry." |
Alex
the Alligator mutters, "Little fish and frogs are all right but I’d
really like to nibble on your human fingers if I could get to you!" |
"There’s
plenty of breakfast for us here in this pond," Tubby the Turtle
announces to his dozens of friends, "but you might keep some distance
between you and that alligator over there!" |
"I
know the Park Ranger said you shouldn’t feed us," whines Dora the
Deer, "but please, won’t you take pity and give us a few of your
left-overs?" |
"We’d
never have guessed how hard-hearted and selfish you are!" snorts the
Deer Family. "So, we’ll just have to fend for ourselves, eh?" |
| Each day shows us new beauties and wonders which
never cease in this world God has created! Your friendship is one of the
past joys we treasure, and we hope that your lives are as blessed as ours!
See you on down the road!
The Pilgrim Pair,
Bruce and MarySue
