GOD AT WORK
WAIT!
We rush about in useless circles
trying to get this done
and accomplish that;
to save time, or become a success.
But meaning isn’t measured in minutes,
and satisfaction doesn’t stick to a schedule!
So, WAIT!
Wait for the time God chooses as right.
WATCH!
We grow blind and oblivious
to subtle signs of Divine goodness,
tiny changes of birth and new life,
of disasters avoided and blessings received.
But your Maker’s still at work creating,
building, breaking, crushing, changing.
So, WATCH!
Watch for what the Almighty is doing!
WELCOME!
We slam the doors of our hearts and lives
when the Holy One comes
disguised in pain, disappointment,
ugliness, loss, or broken dreams.
But the work clothes of the Eternal are varied;
Not all are beautiful to behold or experience.
So, WELCOME!
Welcome the Universe Builder in whatever guise!
REJOICE!
Self-made burdens weigh us down:
cares of this world,
fears of the future, regrets of the past,
complaints about trivia and grudges over slights.
But the Keeper of Eternity holds time, space and each of us,
in powerful hands that will not let us go.
So, REJOICE!
Rejoice for you are precious to the Creator and Lover of All!
