LAKE HURON SUNSET

Nature hoists her most brilliant colors.
In the silence of a 21-cloud salute,
The reigning Monarch
of the Kingdom of Day
sinks slowly into the sea,
Sending out a golden promise
across the crests of darkening waves:
"Tomorrow, I’ll return."
